NEWS: JUNO award winner Kellylee Evans appointed OrKidstra Ambassador
OrKidstra is delighted to announce that Kellylee Evans, noted Canadian jazz and soul singer and songwriter, has been appointed OrKidstra’s third Ambassador. Kellylee—a JUNO award winner—joins two other Ambassadors, Angela Hewitt, CC, OBE, international concert pianist, and Alexander Shelley, Music Director of the National Arts Centre Orchestra, in supporting OrKidstra.
In announcing the appointment, Claire Marshall, OrKidstra’s Board Chair, said, “Through her pursuit of musical excellence, her energetic joie de vivre and remarkable personal resilience, Kellylee will inspire OrKidstra’s kids, teachers and volunteers to seek out possibilities and develop their potential to the max.”
Kellylee commented “I have been an ardent admirer of the OrKidstra program for a number of years, watching children grow and flourish under the loving care of its teachers and volunteers. What this organization gives to our community cannot be quantified. Being asked to be an Ambassador for the program brings me immense joy, as does the honour of joining the ranks of my fellow Ambassadors. It is my hope that I can be of service to OrKidstra and its talented students.”
OrKidstra is a charitable, social development program that teaches life skills to kids from Ottawa’s under-served areas through learning and making music together: empower kids…build community.
