CBC Ottawa says they received hundreds of nominations for the 2021 Trailblazers Awards, “…we eventually chose to honour the following 10 individuals for all their inspiring work — work that’s been made even more challenging by the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Kathryn Patricia Cobbler, affectionately known at OrKidstra as Ms. Kathryn, says “As both an artist and an educator, an important part of my work is holding space. Something that will always stay at the core of what I do is supporting marginalized voices and helping everyone have a ‘seat at the table.’” She also thanks OrKidstra for nominating her for this award, “A BIG thank you to my nominator OrKidstra. To all of our incredible staff, Teaching Artists, and most importantly our students–you are the real trailblazers and make our future brighter every day ❤️!”
