New year brings some new beginnings for staff and Teaching Artists
The new year brings some new beginnings for OrKidstra staff members and Teaching Artists! Tina Fedeski, OrKidstra CEO & Artistic Director, says, “Please join us in welcoming OrKidstra Teaching Artists Kathryn Patricia Cobbler and Mark Constantine as they move into their new roles as part of the core staff. Also, we congratulate Andrew Gesing as he moves into a new chapter of his career as a qualified teacher with Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. While we will miss him, we know that he will continue to impact the lives of kids around him positively. As we progress and innovate our virtual programming, we are very grateful for the support of the OrKidstra family and the extraordinary work of our dedicated staff and Teaching Artists.”
As Andrew Gesing shifts his focus from Artistic & Social Impact Coordinator to his teaching career, he will remain involved with OrKidstra as a Teaching Artist. “The past three years working at OrKidstra have been an incredible experience,” he says. “The organization has evolved a lot since I started, and I have changed alongside. It has helped me grow, develop my passion for music education, and shown me the monumental impact a program like this can have on a community. I feel proud to call the staff and teaching artists I have worked with my colleagues and friends, and hope to have the opportunity to continue my relationship with OrKidstra for years to come.”
Long-time OrKidstra Teaching Artist Kathryn Patricia Cobbler is thrilled to be moving into the newly-created, part-time role of Teaching Artistry Facilitator. “Having been involved with OrKidstra since 2013, I’m so glad to be deepening my relationship with the organization! I’m excited to expand my role in furthering OrKidstra’s mission to empower kids and build community in the new role of Teaching Artistry Facilitator. In a time of so much uncertainty, OrKidstra continues to be a source of strength for all involved.”
Teaching Artist Mark Constantine is enthusiastic about his new role of Artistic Program Coordinator. “Having already witnessed this organization’s incredible capacity to effect change and growth through music,” he says, “I am truly thrilled to expand my role with OrKidstra from Teaching Artist to Artistic Program Coordinator. I look forward to the opportunity to work with the amazing faculty and staff towards building an even stronger and more vibrant OrKidstra community.”
Please join us in wishing Kathryn, Mark, and Andrew all the best in their new journeys!
