A message from Ms. Tina on March 16, 2022
“Hello. A warm OrKidstra welcome to you all. My name is Ms. Tina, and I’m the proud Co-Founder and Executive & Artistic Director of OrKidstra.
Two years ago, on March 16th, 2020, the halls of OrKidstra fell silent. As the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic gripped our world, we too felt a profound sense of loss. Our after-school Hubs have always been a shining beacon of music, belonging, and growth for our students, and their closure left a music note-shaped hole in our hearts.
But out of necessity comes creativity. I’m so proud of how quickly OrKidstra “modulated” so that the music can play on…line. Thanks to your support, our innovative OrKidstra @ Home online programming has kept the joy of music and belonging alive for our kids during even the darkest moments of the pandemic. For that, we are truly thankful. The lessons learned through OrKidstra @ Home will continue to guide us as we move forward.
Although each of us has experienced the pandemic differently, I know we have all missed the opportunity to play, sing, and enjoy music together.
Two years onwards, as public health restrictions begin to ease across Canada, I’m thrilled to announce that OrKidstra is returning to mainly in-person, Hub-based programming for our instrumental students. And in fall 2022, we plan to welcome all students back to our after-school Hubs in Centretown and Vanier.

We will be forever grateful for the incredible love, loyalty, and support you have shown our OrKidstra family during this incredibly tough time. You are all OrKid-STARS and we can’t wait to play every note with love together with you again. Thank you.”
