Holiday Concert 2015
On December 17. 2015 we had our ever anticipated Holiday Concert! We had almost 200 children performing together for a PACKED audience at the Bronson Centre.
The concert was filled with traditional holiday favourites, like themes from the Nutcracker & My Favourite Things, and some not-so-traditional songs, like Carol of the Rosin Eating Grinch & Am Stram Gram! Both students and audience had a blast and left with full hearts.
We were most proud of the world-premiere of a piece written by our very own, INCREDIBLE Ms. Margaret – Pass That Eh! This piece takes the audience on a quick national tour of Canada. It was performed by all of the OrKidstra students, all of whom had a specific, special part to perform. Pass That Eh is filled with complex rhythms and layering and this particular performance paid a tribute to Aboriginal music. We were so lucky that we were joined by a traditional Pottawatami Cree drummer, Theland Kicknosway and 2 wonderful Inuit Throat Singers, Keely Nicholson (Papatsie) & Kendal Ford (Elisapee).
We are so excited to see where Pass That Eh will go!
