We’re hiring! Trombone Teaching Artist
Come work with us! OrKidstra is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Trombone Teaching Artist (Part-time position) to join our artistic faculty for the 2026–27 season.

The Trombone Teaching Artist will receive the opportunity to transform children’s lives through music while teaching group and individual trombone lessons within a supportive, Sistema-inspired environment. Reporting to the Artistic Managing Director and accountable to the entire OrKidstra team, the Trombone Teaching Artist is responsible for the delivery of musical instruction to the students of OrKidstra. They will work collaboratively with their section lead to advance pedagogy, guidelines, and best practices for the positive social and musical development of their students.
The successful candidate will have a passion for community building, strong communication skills, and demonstrable experience in a similar role.

Working Type and Environment
The successful candidate will be based in the National Capital Region. This part-time position requires the candidate to attend in-person programming weekly on Tuesdays at OrKidstra’s Centre Hub (211 Bronson Ave.) during after-school hours and for occasional events.
Work is typically scheduled Tuesdays between 4 PM – 7 PM, with some flexibility required for special events or occasional substitute opportunities. OrKidstra’s Centre Hub is located at 211 Bronson Ave., Ottawa, Ontario.
Compensation
OrKidstra offers a competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
Hourly wage range: $45-$60/hour
