OrKidstra’s Wheels on the Bus, presented by Kiwanis Club of Ottawa, was a thrilling musical journey around Ottawa!

For the first time ever, on Friday, July 7, 2023, OrKidstra and the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa teamed up to bring the joy of music to neighbourhoods across the city – on wheels!

OrKidstra’s Wheels on the Bus, presented by the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa, was a thrilling musical journey around Ottawa, visiting 4 locations on a double-decker bus to deliver captivating LIVE performances by over 30 OrKidstra students, our Leaders in Training! Featuring pop favourites, classical pieces, and music from around the globe, this community event was a great way to share the magic and music of OrKidstra with Ottawa! 

Thanks to the support of our community partner Kiwanis Club of Ottawa, “OrKidstra’s Wheels on the Bus” was a FREE one-of-a-kind, one-day-only, pop-up event that brought fun and accessible musical experiences to the community. The four performance locations were Carlingwood Retirement Residence (Carlingwood), Sandalwood Park (Heron Gate), Minto Park (Centretown) and Rideau Community Hub (Vanier/Overbrook). At our last stop of the day on July 7, everyone enjoyed music and some tasty BBQ (by donation) and were welcome to purchase a summer treat from the on-site ice cream truck, courtesy of The Merry Dairy, a longtime supporter of OrKidstra.
