Come work with us! OrKidstra is seeking enthusiastic and collaborative Cello Teaching Artists (Part-time positions) to join our artistic faculty for the 2026–27 season.

As a Cello Teaching Artist you will have the opportunity to transform children’s lives through music while teaching group and/or individual cello lessons within a supportive, Sistema-inspired environment. Reporting to the Artistic Managing Director and accountable to the entire OrKidstra team, the Cello Teaching Artists are responsible for the delivery of musical instruction to the students of OrKidstra. They will work collaboratively with their section lead to advance pedagogy, guidelines, and best practices for the positive social and musical development of their students.
The successful candidates will have a passion for community building, strong communication skills, and demonstrable experience in a similar role.

Positions Available and Environment
The successful candidates will be based in the National Capital Region. These part-time positions require the candidates to attend in-person programming weekly during after-school hours and for occasional events.
Please note you may choose to apply for one or both positions.
Senior & Intermediate Semi-Private Cello Classes (part-time, in-person position)
- Day: Tuesdays, with some flexibility required for special events or occasional substitute opportunities.
- Location: Bronson Centre (211 Bronson Avenue)
- Time commitment: 4:30–7:30 p.m. (2 to 3 hours) weekly
- Group size: Small groups up to 5 students per hour. These students have been with OrKidstra the longest and are grouped into our Senior and Intermediate ensembles.
Beginner Cello Class (part-time, in-person position)
- Days: Mondays and Wednesdays, with some flexibility required for special events or occasional substitute opportunities.
- Location: Vanier Hub (485 Donald Street)
- Time commitment: 4:30–6:30 p.m. per day.
- Group size: 8–14 beginner students, with the same students attending both days. This role will involve leading a new beginner cello class.
Compensation
OrKidstra offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
Hourly wage range: $45-$60/hour
