OrKidstra Holiday Concerts a great success!
The OrKidstra holiday concerts at the Centretown Hub (Bronson Centre) on Dec. 22, 2016 and the Vanier Hub (Rideau High School) on Dec. 21, 2016 were a big success! Congratulations to all the students and teachers who worked so hard to put on such wonderful concerts and thank you to all our donors, volunteers and supporters for helping to make OrKidstra possible!
The concert at Rideau High School was the first ever for the students at the OrKidstra Vanier Hub and featured over 75 children playing and singing pieces like “Star Wars,” “Jingle Bells,” “Ode to Joy” and “Ala! Kumbe! (I See! It Is So!)” along with a surprise performance from the OrKidstra teaching artists! View the Vanier Hub concert program here.
The Centretown Hub concert at the Bronson Centre featured over 200 OrKidstra students singing and playing a selection of fabulous music such as “Twinkle Bell K’Naan,” “Brandenburg Concerto,” “Symphony No. 40 in G minor (1st mvmt)” by W. A. Mozart and “Let it Snow” featuring OrKidstra Conductors Margaret Tobolowska, Donnie Deacon and surprise conductor OrKidstra senior David Joseph!
