OrKidstra and Thrive Select Thrift launch fashionable collaboration thanks to donation from acclaimed pianist Angela Hewitt

100% of proceeds will help empower local youth through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa and OrKidstra

It’s the perfect fit! Starting this October, local charities OrKidstra and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa (BBBSO) are giving you the chance to own apparel with real star quality and feel great about giving back.

Thanks to a generous donation from internationally acclaimed concert pianist Angela Hewitt, CC, OBE, for a limited time, starting on October 19, items from Ms. Hewitt’s wardrobe which have graced concert halls throughout the world will be available to purchase at Thrive Select Thrift. Featuring world-renowned designers such as Marc Jacobs, Diane Freis, and Richard Robinson, 100% of proceeds from the sale of these beautiful vintage pieces will help empower local youth. #DoGoodDressWell

Located on Merivale Road, Thrive Select Thrift recently celebrated its first anniversary of supporting the work of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa through their curated boutique. When OrKidstra received the unique donation from charity Ambassador Angela Hewitt, they reached out to collaborate with Thrive Select Thrift because of their clothing expertise and alignment with empowering local youth.

One of the world’s leading concert pianists, Angela Hewitt regularly appears in recital and as soloist with major orchestras throughout Europe, the Americas, Australia, and Asia. She also holds deep affection for her hometown of Ottawa and became OrKidstra’s first Ambassador in 2014. In accepting this position, Ms. Hewitt said, “OrKidstra has shown how music can change the prospects of children who would not otherwise have the opportunity to learn an instrument. I am delighted to lend my name to their efforts.”

Ms. Hewitt wore this dress while performing to a rapt audience in Prague in 2005—a truly timeless piece that will make a statement for any special occasion.
