After an extensive search, OrKidstra is pleased to welcome award-winning philanthropy professional Jan Ditchfield as Advancement & Operations Director.
Jan has spent the majority of her career cultivating opportunities by applying entrepreneurial approaches to the charitable sector. She built her career working for charities locally and nationally that specialized in human rights. In 2009, Jan founded her own non-profit which successfully ran for eight years and supported people who were blind to gain confidence through triathlon.
Her leadership in this area has been recognized with a variety of awards, including as a Rick Hansen Difference Maker medalist, finalist in the Celebration of People Awards and named one of the Amazing People in Canada’s National Capital Region.
After taking time off to raise her young daughter, Jan made the decision to return to her roots and pursue a career working within the arts. As a proud Ottawa native, she holds an honours degree in English Literature from Carleton University and is a two-time national improv champion. Her passion has always been music and she once dreamt of becoming a music journalist. Jan continues to enjoy a love affair with the arts and is a dedicated audience member, enthusiast of all music genres and her husband’s (a professional musician) number one fan.
“I am both inspired and proud to be part of the team at OrKidstra. Joy is at the heart and the soul of this organization, and it’s impossible to not smile when I’m at work. Each day, I walk in knowing that I will witness something magical as our kids find themselves through music. We change lives here, and that is truly beautiful to be a part of.”
Please join us in welcoming Jan Ditchfield to the OrKidstra family!
